The Hilal (crescent) of Hijri 1436 Shaban has been observed and sighted al-Hamdulillah during the night of May 19th 2015.اَللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اَللَّهُمَّ أَهِّلْهُ عَلَيْناَ بِاْلأَمْنِ وَ اْلإِيماَنِ، وَ السَّلاَمَةِ وَ اْلإِسْلاَمِ، وَ التَّوْفِيقِ لِماَ تُحِبُّ رَبَّناَ وَ تَرْضَى،رَبُّناَ وَ رَبُّكَ اللهُ
"Allah is the Most Great!.. O Allah, bring us the Hilal (crescent moon) with security and Iman (faith) with peace and in Islam and in harmony with what our Lord loves and what pleases Him. Our Lord and your Lord is Allah!.." (Tirmidhi; Darimi)
Therefore the first day of the Islamic month, Shaban 1436H will be Wednesday May 20th 2016 Inshallah.
