The Second Khutbah Given by Shaykhul Islm Muhammad bin Abdil Wahhb Rahimahullh During dun Nahr (Festival of Slaughter)[1]

All praise is due to Allh, the Master of gatherings and celebrations, the One Who raised the skies without any pillars that you can see. He is the Increaser of the provisions of the earth and the One who anchors it with mountains. I praise Him Subhnahu upon His bounties that are impossible to count in numbers. I thank Allh, and by thanking Him bounties become pleasant and increase.

I bear witness that there is no -true- deity -worthy of worship- except Allh, He is One and has no partners. This is a testimony which I prepare for the Day of Gathering.

I also bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His messenger, the guide to the Path of Right Conduct,[2] the caller to Allh upon foresight until the slaves accept his Dawah (call).

O Allh, send peace and abundant blessings upon Muhammad, and upon all of his respected honourable family and companions.

Foreword:

Servants of Allh! Fear Allhu Tal and know that the one who is happy is not the one who perceives d, wears new clothing, rides upon a branded beautiful horse, and is served by servants. Verily, the one who is happy is the one who fears Allh in what he begins and repeats, he who has succeeded with Jannah (Paradise) with its bounties that neither exhaust nor perish, and he who has been saved from the extreme hotness of the Nr (Hell-fire), its far bottom, the food az-Zaqqm[3] for its people and their repulsive drink, and their clothing of tar and iron.

Servants of Allh! Fear Allh by obeying His certain commands, establish the Salh, pay the Zakh, command good and forbid from evil, for this is the affair of the slave.

Know that Allhu Tal has commanded you with an affair He commenced with Himself, thus He Tal said,

Surely, Allh and His angels send blessings to the Nab. O you who believe! Invoke Allhs blessings upon him, and salute him with worthy greetings of peace. (al-Ahzb 33/56)

O Allh, send peace upon Your slave and messenger Muhammad, the perfect Hshimit Nab (prophet from the tribe of Ban Hshim).

O Allh be pleased with the Four Caliphs, the Hanf masters, Ab Bakr, Umar, Uthmn, Al, and with the rest of the companions who were the people of truthfulness and fulfillment, the Tabin and those who follow them and those who follow the tracks of their path with perfection until the Day of Judgement, and with us while being pleased with them, with Your forgiveness, generosity, and Your kindness. O the One Who is the Best of those who overlook and forgive.

O Allh! Honour Islm and the Muslimn; disgrace Shirk and the Mushrikn, protect the boundaries of the Dn, and make this country pleasing and the rest of the countries of the Muslimn!

O Allh! Establish the banner of Jihd, supress the way of Ahlush Shirk, Rayb (doubts), and Fasd (corruption), and open up Your Mercy upon these servants. O the One whom the worldly life and Hereafter belongs to, and to whom the return will be!

Servants of Allh! Indeed, Allh orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded.

And fulfill the Covenant of Allh when you have covenanted, and do not break your oaths after confirming them, having made Allah a witness over you. Verily, Allah knows what you do.[4]

So remember Allh, the Great the Majestic, so that He may remember you, be grateful to Him for all of His bounties so that He may increase you. And the remembrance of Allh is surely the greatest, and Allh knows all that which you do.
 1. Shaykhul Islm Muhammad bin Abdil Wahhb, al-Khutabul Minbariyyah, p. 41-43.

 2. Allhu Tal states,

The man who believed said further: O my people! Follow me: I will lead you to the Path of Right Conduct. (Mumin/Ghfir 40/38)

 3. Allhu Tal states the following regarding the Tree of Zaqqm,

Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqm? For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. (as-Sfft 37/62-66);

Verily the tree of Zaqqm. Will be the food of the Sinful. Like molten brass; it will boil in their insides. Like the boiling of scalding water. (ad-Dukhn 44/43-46);

Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqm. Then will ye fill your insides therewith... (al-Wqiah 56/52-53)

 4. Shaykh Rahimahullh refers to the following verses,

Indeed, Allh orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded. Fulfill the Covenant of Allh when ye have entered into it, and break not your oaths after ye have confirmed them; indeed ye have made Allh your surety; for Allh knoweth all that ye do. (an-Nahl 16/90-91)
Shaykhul Islm Ibnu Taymiyyah Rahimahullh said,

The lim (scholar) recognizes the Jhil (ignorant) since he was once a Jhil. The Jhil does not recognize the lim since he has never been an lim. (Majmul Fatw, 13/235)
