MEN PRAYING HEADS UNCOVERED

Quote

Shaykh Abdullah bin Shaykh Muhammad bin Abd’il Wahhab was asked: “What about (men) praying Salaat heads uncovered?” So he (rahimahullah) responded:

Regarding the one who prays Salaat (daily prayers) and his head is uncovered, I do not see anything objection in it and covering the heads for Salaat is not Waajib (obligatory). It is because the head is not among the rights of Awrah (a part of the body that must be covered by Shari’ah) for the men and indeed the head is among the rights of Awrah for the women. Then know that for the man praying Salaat with uncovered head it is Ja’iz (permissible) and for the man praying Salaat with Qalansuwah (cap)* on his head is superior and better.” (Durar’us Saniyyah, 4/227)

* For the man praying Salaat with Qalansuwah on his head refer back to Tirmidhi, Hadith no: 1644; Tirmidhi, Hadith no: 1734; Abi Dawud, Hadith no: 948; Malik, Muwatta, Hadith no: 1318.
Shaykh'ul Islâm Ibnu Taymiyyah Rahimahullâh said,

"All statements that had been said by the Muta'akhirrűn (latter ones) differing from the Mutaqaddiműn (predecessors) and that had not been previously mentioned by any other, is a mistake. As Imâm Ahmad bin Hanbal Rahimahullâh said,

"Refrain from speaking about a matter without an Imâm!.." (Ibnu Taymiyyah, Majmű'ul Fatâwâ, 21/291)
